eine Art hat nur ein Holotyp. Odobenocetops de Muizon, 1993 ist ein Delfin der Pliocene aus Peru. Es gibt zwei Arten; O. peruvianus de Muizon, 1993 und O. leptodon de Muizon, Domning & Parrish, 1999.

Ein Papier, das in 2002 veroffentlicht war, fängt folgendes an: "The Pliocene Beds of the Pisco Formation on the southern coast of Peru have yielded three new skulls of the walrus-like odontocete..." Da diese drei Schädel neu in 2002 sind, muß es mehre Fossilien geben. Unter denen anderen Überresten sind die Holotypen zu finden.

Was für Überresten bekannt sind, weiß ich nicht.
